Bantam

A bantam is smaller sized than a typical chicken. It is not a breed but a size classification. Bantams lay smaller eggs and often much less frequently than larger chickens. Most bantam breeds are a mini version of a standard sized breed, but there are some "True Bantams" which have no larger counterpart.
