Matilda
Tilly was a Khaki Campbell hen that was found on the side of the road, hit by a car. She was being nursed back to health from a broken leg. We did not know her age. She healed to a point and was doing well at the pond. Her walk was always improving and she became very confident around the hooman. Sadly, something happened that stressed her leg and it broke at the site of her original injury.
FarmerSpence scheduled her for a vet visit to see if her leg could heal stronger with surgery. They opted for pins and an external device as that offered strength over a simple splint/cast but was less invasive than a plate installed at the bone. She had made it through surgery well but while recovering from surgery her heart started slowing. Despite the vet's best efforts, her heart stopped. She passed away April 11th, 2020.
In honor of Matilda, we are naming the new maple tree Tilly's Tree. pic.twitter.com/UL6EOGrhRx

This morning, I came upon a duck who got hit by a car. 😢 Looks like her leg is broken. I'm putting a splint on it. She looks like a fighter. 💕 Hopefully she makes a full recovery. pic.twitter.com/LmpX2iwooV
